Iver to a
The Pack signed Donald Driver to a 2 year contract extension yesterday and it just made me want to talk about what makes him such a great part of Packer history. Never truly fast or particularly flashy, DD has been overlooked as one of the great WRs in the league for years. Sure, he doesn't score all the TDs and in many games he isn't even usually the focus of opposing defenses, but what he has done and I'm sure will continue to do is move the sticks on 3rd downs every week by finding that sweet spot just across that pesky yellow line, catching a bullet, and taking a hit without missing a beat, sometimes breaking a tackle to get another 10-15 yds There may be guys who are bigger or faster, but DD isn't out for the glory or the highlight reel, he's in it for the team. Greg Jennings, and before him Javon Walker, can go deep on any play and get on SportsCenter, but DD just wants what the fans want…Packer Victory! Not to say he isn't often spectacular, as I said he's been a great playmaker over the years, it's his work ethic and dedication to the team that has made him special to me. How else does a 7th rounder out of Alcorn State make it like he has? I'm glad he got his extension and I'm sure we'll see him retire as a Packer having never worn another team's colors!
