Today we got a great training camp report between practice sessions in Mankato for the Vikings from @Drozey and among other things, I was surprised to hear their autograph policy. Apparently the Vikings designate a group of players to sign autographs each session, and this morning it happened to be the offensive line (Drozey's son got an autograph from Phil Loadholt). While other players do also have the choice to give autographs at anytime, I can imagine this takes a lot of stress off the players who are always being sought after for their signature. This could very well be a common practice around the NFL but he did mention this was not the case under the Mike Tice era.
Other Camp News From Drozey
Apparently Sage Rosenfels and Brad Childress got into a verbal sparring that ended in Childress throwing his arms up in disgust and walking away.
Joe Webb needs the most work mechanically and accuracy. Big and Fast. Had a nice run today as well. Tarvaris Jackson looked impressive in the morning session.
Position Battle: Jamarcus Sanford looked impressive and is making a push at safety.
Rookie CB Chris Cook looked impressive in coverage, blanketing receivers. Possible nickel back.
Chad Greenway is stepping up and taking more of a verbal leadership role for the Vikings.
Toby Gerhart was working very hard, looking to make an impression on the coaches.
Visanthe Shiancoe and Ben Lieber got into a shoving match during some 1 on 1 drills although Drozey said it didn't seem too serious, more of a heat of the moment type incident.
The afternoon session had the following passing stats for QB's in 11 on 11 (No INT's)
Tarvaris Jackson 4-8
Sage Rosenfels 5-5 (Apparently he heard our criticism)
Joe Webb 2-5
