As I mentioned in my post yesterday, today (Tuesday after the first preseason game) was the day last year in which Brett Favre again un-retired and committed to playing with the Minnesota Vikings. Tomorrow (or Wednesday after the first preseason game) will mark the one year point of when #4 started practicing with his new team. Is anyone else experiencing some Déjà vu?
It has been reported by Fox Sports that three Vikings players, G Steve Hutchinson, DE Jared Allen, and K Ryan Longwell made a trip to Hattiesburg on Monday in order to expedite the decision making process for Favre (which would be why he wasn't throwing around at the High School). Apparently they were successful. The only thing we can say to this point is that successful means there is soon to be a decision, because to this moment, there is not one although a decision appears to be looming. Here is an official statement from Brett Favre's website:
"Thank you for visiting Brett Favre's website. We are awaiting a statement soon from the Vikings. As soon as this is available we will pass it along. Thanks for your support"
One thing is clear in all this murkiness -- Favre Watch 2010 will soon come to an end, which would be a darn shame, because what do we have after the annual Favre Watch? 3 more weeks of preseason :( BOOOOO!
